We often make these lists of New Year's Resolutions, goals we want to achieve, plans to make life better or just getting to learn new things.
But that does not often work as well, by February most of us have forgotten what is on our list or just don't do it..
Jesus made the following statement in Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”
It's almost like the entrance to Heaven is like a turnstile, only one person can fit through at a time, you cannot take anything with you, no luggage is allowed and many times our lives are filled with the "things" that make us who we are. Our desires, our lists, our stuff, but Jesus wants our full attention, our full commitment, all our love, everything else will be added to our lives by Him.
The question that we can then ask ourselves is the following: Is Jesus the centre point in our planning for the year ahead, and do we honour Him in everything we need to do in our lives?
* In our personal lives
* In our families
* In our Church where we serve
* In our workplace
Should our main plans for the year not have Christ Jesus in the middle of it, and our whole life centred around that?
Is Christ your plan for the year?
